Santa Fe Railroad interesting facts

The Santa Fe railroad has always intrigued me and I was doing some research and found that it started in 1859 and was named in part for the capital of New Mexico and it was one of the pioneers in railway freight service. The railroad was mean't to go from Atchison, Kansas to Santa Fe, New Mexico.

We recently got the ho Bachmann trains Santa Fe emd ft-a unit diesel engine back in stock. This is a classic looking diesel engine.

Christmas train ideas

Maybe it is a little early to be thinking about Christmas but, we have been getting calls asking about different trains at Modeltrainpro.com. One call in particular asked about a train for a table. If you are new to model railroading, I would suggest getting an n scale train set which would easily fit on a table. If you do this, you can decorate around it and even make a village with the train running through it.

If anyone has any ideas about using model trains as decorations for Christmas, feel free to post a comment. Here is a link to a nice n scale Christmas set we have in stock called the Bachmann Spirit of Christmas.
